Message it's still an internet forum. The nuances of a joke or sarcasm get lost in this realm. And it's made worse when some people don't have a sense of humor. When you tell me to take a flying leap, I know that you're joking (or that you'd better be if you want any type of quality work done on your car). If someone else I don't know told me that, it would be hard to tell if they were trying to be funny or not.

When something like this happens, the first thing I do is to remind myself is that NOTHING on this forum is worth getting upset over. If I don't like the way someone responds to my post, yes I get disappointed, but I look beyond it and either move on to another topic, or log off tt.net for a while to recalibrate my perspective.

This forum is a great place to trade information, give good advise, and hopefully have a good laugh. But when it gets to the point that hate/flame wars become a daily routine, I think we need to re-evaluate things to get the proper perspective about it.

I will not start naming names, but I hope the people who really need to understand this point will read this message and put it to practice.

XOXO,

Garth

of course those are canadian bannings and beatings, which after the conversion rate is really only a "hey! stop that!" Chris(NJ) 1/14/04
